The Bones of J.R. Jones is the artistic project of American musician Jonathon Linaberry, originating in Brooklyn but rooted in Southern American folk, blues, gospel and americana traditions. His music is characterised by raw, intimate production, acoustic guitar, organ and a raspy, emotionally expressive vocal delivery, with themes of guilt, faith and redemption. His 2016 album Spirit Talker marked a breakthrough, and subsequent releases have expanded his sound while retaining its dark, introspective core.
