The play follows a man who wakes up after 60 hours spent in room 158 of a Montreal gay sauna — disoriented, hollowed out, broken. In this tiny room transformed into a confessional theater space, he retraces the past years and the past hours, grappling with grief, desire, addiction, and the impulse to disappear entirely.
The text, driven by a raw yet romantic language and propelled by a crystal meth-fueled internal monologue, explores the often-invisible struggles within the queer community. Gabriel Szabo brings the writing to life through Cyr's precise and restrained direction, navigating the full spectrum of dependency with honesty and intensity.
The play's author, Éric Noël, won the Prix littéraire du Gouverneur général in the Theatre category in 2025 for this text. He had originally performed the piece himself at the Festival Jamais Lu in 2015. Noël has held the position of artistic and general director of the Festival Jamais Lu since 2025.
