Syrian singer Omar Souleyman performs a special live concert at the Société des arts technologiques (SAT) in Montréal, QC on Friday, October 2, with doors and show starting at 20:00 EDT.
Souleyman began his career playing at weddings in Syria, releasing hundreds of live cassette recordings before gaining global recognition. His breakthrough studio album Wenu Wenu (2013), produced by Four Tet, launched him onto the international stage, followed by critically acclaimed releases including Bahdeni Nami, To Syria With Love, Shlon, and Erbil.
He has collaborated with major artists including Björk, Four Tet, and Gorillaz, and is widely celebrated for blending traditional Middle Eastern melodies and dabke rhythms with contemporary electronic dance music.
The concert is presented by good shows, MARSM, and The Plant. Special guests are to be announced.
