Lobo por Lobo - Bernardo Lobo

Lobo por Lobo is a concert-documentary in which Brazilian artist Bernardo Lobo traces three generations of his family's musical legacy. The show weaves together personal memories, narration, archival photographs, historical footage, and family images to create an immersive sensory and emotional journey connecting audiences to Fernando Lobo, Edu Lobo, and Bernardo Lobo.

The programme draws from Bernardo's ninth album, also titled Lobo por Lobo, which pays homage to his father Edu Lobo and his grandfather Fernando Lobo, alongside his own original compositions. Highlights from the set list include Lero-Lero, Reza, Arrastão, Ponteio, Ciranda da Bailarina, Chuvas de Verão, and Zum-Zum. The album will be recorded live in Rio de Janeiro and released in 2026 on the Biscoito Fino label.

Bernardo Lobo's music blends contemporary Brazilian styles — samba, baião, ciranda, afoxé and xote — rooted in the artistic traditions that shaped his identity across his previous eight albums.

Edu Lobo, his father, is a towering figure of bossa nova and MPB (Música Popular Brasileira) with a career spanning more than six decades. He has collaborated with Chico Buarque, Vinicius de Moraes, Aldir Blanc, and Paulo César Pinheiro, and has won the Latin Grammy for Best MPB Album twice — in 2002 for Cambaio and in 2017 for Dos Navegantes.

Fernando Lobo, his grandfather, was a celebrated composer, journalist, and radio presenter whose songs were recorded by João Gilberto, Caetano Veloso, Dorival Caymmi, and Elizeth Cardoso, among others. He was a key figure during the golden age of Rádio Nacional.

The concert takes place at Halle Tropisme in Montpellier on Friday, October 16 at 20:00. Tickets are available via Shotgun.
