Lene Adler Petersen

Lene Adler Petersen (b. 1944) is one of Denmark's most important contemporary artists, whose work emerged from the avant-garde movements of the 1960s and 1970s. Her conceptual, poetic, and political practice explores language, image, body, and gender through the lens of everyday life, and she became nationally renowned for the feminist action The Female Christ, in which she walked naked through the Copenhagen Stock Exchange holding a cross.
