Hoda Adra

Born in Lebanon, raised in Saudi Arabia, and based in Montreal, Hoda Adra works at the intersection of writing, poetry, drawing, and performance. Her practice is rooted in orality as a space of resistance, and her work explores gender apartheid, suppressed oral histories, and governmental power over the body. Her previous solo, L'histoire de comment je me suis séparée en deux, was nominated for the Prix Michel-Tremblay and published by Éditions du Noroît; she has also received the PEN Translates prize for her translations of Palestinian oral history archives and the Joseph-S.-Stauffer Prize awarded by the Canada Council for the Arts in 2024.
