The Opéra Comédie in Montpellier hosts a Halloween-themed symphonic concert designed for the whole family on the evening of 31 October 2026. The programme gathers orchestral showpieces associated with witches, ghosts and fantastical creatures, offering thrills without going too far.
The repertoire spans a century of orchestral colour: from the incandescent energy of Khatchaturian's Sabre Dance to the mysterious Sensemaya by Revueltas, from the earth and fire spirits conjured by Holst to the breathless chase of Bartók's The Miraculous Mandarin. Works by Nielsen, Gounod, Borodin, Prokofiev, Shostakovich and Strauss II complete the programme.
Katharina Morin conducts two ensembles: the Orchestre Tremplin du Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional de Montpellier (Cité des Arts) and the Orchestre national Montpellier Occitanie. The concert runs approximately 1 hour 30 minutes with no interval.
Attendees are encouraged to come in costume. A single ticket price of €16 applies.
