Julia B. Laperrière and Sébastien Provencher, longtime artistic collaborators, co-created and perform 'Après le déluge' — a choreographic show set in a stark, black-and-white, highly angular world. Two humanoid creatures navigate this kaleidoscopic environment, encountering strange sounds, mysterious boxes, and the unsettling possibility of tentacles.
The piece blends dance, live music, and puppetry, with organic-shaped unusual puppets appearing on a checkerboard-patterned set. The work balances irony, mishaps, and surprise in equal measure, pulsing to a live musical score.
Beyond its playful absurdism, the show invites reflection on our impulse to categorize and contain the world around us, and on the transformative potential of chaos.
Performances take place at La Chapelle Scènes Contemporaines in Montreal from November 5 to 7, 2026. Tickets are available through Tuxedo Billet.
