Angélique Kidjo, one of Africa's most celebrated musical voices, brings her latest live show to Montpellier's Salle Berlioz at Le Corum. A Beninese artist with over three decades at the forefront of world music, she is renowned for her electrifying stage presence and a sound that fuses Afropop, funk, jazz and traditional West African rhythms.
The concert spotlights her 20th studio album, HOPE!!, a wide-ranging collaborative project featuring contributions from Nile Rodgers, Diane Warren, PJ Morton, The Cavemen and the Soweto Gospel Choir. The album was largely produced by Nigerian producer Shizzi and recorded between Paris and Los Angeles.
Kidjo's recent creative output also includes new collaborations with Pharrell Williams, Quavo, Diamond Platnumz, Ayra Starr, Davido, Dadju and Fally Ipupa, as well as a symphonic rendition of Jerusalema performed at the reopening of Notre-Dame de Paris in 2024 — a version nominated at the 2026 Grammy Awards.
Among her many accolades, Kidjo holds multiple Grammy Awards, including Best Global Music Album for Mother Nature (2021), the Polar Music Prize (2023), and recognition as one of Time magazine's 100 most influential people in the world.
