"About Cruising: Lignes de désir" is a wordless theatre piece created and performed by Thomas Lapointe, running from January 11 to 15, 2027 at La Chapelle Scènes Contemporaines in Montreal.
The work follows a novice protagonist who enters a cruising space for the first time, bringing him face to face with the contradictions of his own desires — attraction and repulsion, fantasy and danger, visibility and anonymity.
The dramaturgy is built on slowness and micro-gestures, drawing the audience into a world governed by implicit codes, bodily tension, and the unspoken rules that shape sexual encounters in queer spaces.
Through this distinctive theatrical form centred on the body and suggestion, the piece offers a thoughtful reflection on contemporary sexual mores and the dynamics unique to queer cruising culture.
Performances begin at 19:30. Tickets are available through the La Chapelle box office online.
