The Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin — affectionately known to its audience as Akamus — returns to Montréal for what is billed as a double finale, marking 20 years with the Bachs. Widely regarded as one of the world's most celebrated Baroque ensembles, Akamus brings a programme exclusively focused on the Bach family.
The repertoire spans generations: Johann Sebastian Bach's Overture-Suite BWV 1067, works by his sons Carl Philipp Emanuel and Wilhelm Friedemann, and pieces by his cousin Johann Bernhard Bach. Oboist Xenia Löffler serves as the featured soloist, navigating this family musical landscape through to the Concerto for Oboe d'amore.
The concert takes place on Saturday, December 5, 2026, at 19:30, at St. George's Anglican Church, 1101 Rue Stanley, Montréal. Tickets are available through the Festival Bach ticketing platform.
