The Black Keys are an American rock duo from Akron, Ohio. Formed in 2001, the band consists of Dan Auerbach on guitar and vocals, and Patrick Carney on drums. Without a record label, they released their first independent album, The Big Come Up, in 2002. Their blues-rock sound is influenced by artists like Junior Kimbrough, R.L. Burnside, and Howlin' Wolf. Over the following years, The Black Keys released several albums and built a strong reputation through their numerous performances at clubs and festivals.
