Nocturne 1 opens MUTEK 2026's week-long Nocturne series at the Société des arts technologiques (SAT), located at 1201 St Laurent Blvd in Montreal. Doors open at 10:30 PM on Wednesday, August 26, 2026.
The evening features four acts at the forefront of electronic music and digital art: Barker, Debit presenting Desaceleradas, Marc-Antoine Barbier with Museum of Species, and Matthew Herbert performing theukhasmorefoodbanksthanbranchesofmcdonalds.com.
The Nocturne format moves through different atmospheres, formats, and levels of intensity each evening. On this Wednesday night, immersive films co-presented with the SAT will be shown in the Satosphere dome, while live performances unfold on the ground floor.
From Thursday the 27th through Sunday the 30th, the series expands across two floors for an augmented experience. Nocturne 1 marks the start of what promises to be a wide-ranging exploration of contemporary electronic music and digital creativity.
