Drum Solo brings together Swiss drummer Julian Sartorius and British experimental producer Matthew Herbert for an evening of live improvisation at MUTEK 2026's Nocturne 5.
Sartorius draws on a vast collection of drums, percussion, and augmented objects to generate complex, layered rhythms, which Herbert processes in real time with electronic tools, creating a dense, constantly evolving sonic atmosphere. The result is a highly inventive dialogue between acoustic and electronic worlds.
