De Carmen à Gershwin : invitations au voyage

This concert brings together pianist Jean-Yves Thibaudet and the Orchestre symphonique de Montréal under guest conductor Stéphane Denève for an evening of music inspired by travel and exoticism. The programme opens with Camille Saint-Saëns's Piano Concerto No. 5 in F major, Op. 103, nicknamed 'The Egyptian', a work for which Thibaudet is considered the leading interpreter today.

The OSM and Denève then present Georges Bizet's celebrated Carmen orchestral suite, showcasing the opera's most iconic pages filled with passion, seduction and drama, followed by George Gershwin's An American in Paris, a vibrant tone poem evoking the energy and charm of the French capital.

The concert takes place at the Amphithéâtre Fernand-Lindsay in Joliette, a renowned open-air venue in the Lanaudière region, as part of the Festival de Lanaudière. The performance begins at 19:00 and runs approximately 1 hour 20 minutes.

Tickets are priced from $28 to $120 (taxes and fees included). The event is produced and presented by the Festival de Lanaudière.
