River of Spirits

Directed by Colectivo Tawna, this 2026 Ecuador/USA co-production (1h01) screens in original version (Spanish and Achuar) with French subtitles.

The film centres on Luciano, a young Achuar man living on the Kapawi River in Ecuador, who proposes solar-powered canoes as an ecologically sound alternative to protect the river from pollution and a planned road project. His vision is guided by an ancestral legend of balance between humans, spirits and the natural world.

This screening is part of the International First Peoples Festival (IFPF) 2026 at Cinéma du Musée.
