Le Comte de Monte-Cristo is a sweeping theatrical adaptation of Alexandre Dumas' celebrated novel, brought to the stage in Montreal by director Serge Denoncourt. The production follows Edmond Dantรจs, a young sailor unjustly accused of a crime and imprisoned for fourteen years in the Chรขteau d'If. Upon escaping, he discovers a hidden treasure, assumes a new identity, and methodically sets out to exact revenge on those who betrayed him.
The show is presented by Agents Doubles Productions and features a large ensemble cast of 17 actors. Mikhaรฏl Ahooja leads as Edmond Dantรจs, with Mรฉlissa Dรฉsormeaux-Poulin as Mercรฉdรจs de Morcerf, Kevin Houle as Danglars, and Maxime de Cotret as Fernand de Morcerf, among many others.
The production runs with an intermission, totalling approximately 3 hours and 20 minutes including a 20-minute break. Performances are in French.
