Kris Kinokewin is an Atikamekw singer-songwriter born in Wemotaci whose music is rooted in the Atikamekw language and folk tradition. He founded the family band Kinokewin, which released its debut album 'Nehirowisw' in 2015, before launching a solo career in 2024 with the singles 'Ekote Aci', 'Kiapatc' and 'Onicka'.
His second solo album, 'Pe Kiwan', was released in 2025 through Manito Productions. His IFPF 2026 performance at Jardins Gamelin is part of the festival's Special Activities programme.
