Souad Massi brings her new album 'Zagate' to the Amphi d'O stage in Montpellier. The record โ whose title derives from an Algerian adaptation of the French phrase 'รงa se gรขte' (things are going wrong) โ reflects her dual Franco-Algerian identity and marks a bolder, more rock-forward chapter in her career.
Produced by British guitarist Justin Adams, 'Zagate' spans eleven tracks that channel a wide emotional range: pain, anger, revolt, but also courage and hope. The album is described as her most fearless and liberated work to date, while retaining the delicate vulnerability that first brought her to audiences' attention.
The live band for this performance features Souad Massi on lead vocals and guitar, Ralph Lavital on acoustic and electric guitar, Guy Nsangue on bass, Martin Wangermรฉe on drums, and Mokrane Aldani on violin and mandole.
