Copenhagen band Lack mark the release of their self-titled album with a concert at Pumpehuset on 10 September 2026. The record — their first in 18 years — is released on vinyl the following day, 11 September 2026, on Copenhagen DIY label Dream Bureau.
Over eight years the band released three albums, toured extensively in Europe and the USA and earned a reputation as one of Copenhagen's most distinctive and explosive acts. Their sound moves fluidly between post-hardcore, indie rock and film noir-influenced music, driven by Thomas Burø's characteristically high-pitched voice, consistently pushed to its limits.
After disbanding in 2008 following the release of 'Saturate Every Atom', members went on to play in bands including Rising, Tvivler, Total Heels, Anchorless and No Light. The band reformed in 2021, beginning with two sold-out concerts in Copenhagen and Odense, and later played Copenhell in 2024.
The new album consists of nine songs recorded live in a single room at an old farm in Odsherred. Thematically the songs circle around work as a human condition and the fundamental compromises involved in building a meaningful life. The record was recorded by Jacob Bredahl, mixed by Jakob Reichert Nielsen and mastered by Matthew Barnhart.
