The Legendary Pink Dots, a UK/Netherlands band, have built a cult following over more than 40 years with a huge discography stretching from the early 1980s to the present. They are known for outsider rock that mixes psychedelic folk, synthpop, post-punk, progressive jazz and prog rock.
Their music has also drawn on neo-psychedelia, ambient, electronic, tape music, noise, gothic rock and alternative rock, sometimes all at once. They are often compared to an industrial take on Syd Barrett-era Pink Floyd, although early David Bowie, The Residents, Can, Faust and musique concrète composers such as Pierre Henry influenced them more.
The current line-up is Edward Ka-Spel (vocals, keyboards, songwriting), Erik Drost (guitar), Randall Frazier (keyboards, electronics) and Joep Hendrikx (live electronics). They have released more than 40 studio albums and tour frequently.
