Sahriyé

RITM (Regroupement d'initiation au Théâtre Musical) brings back its acclaimed production of Sahriyé following the success of three previous performances in Montreal and Ottawa in March 2026. This new presentation is offered as part of Lebanese Heritage Month, under the patronage of the Lebanese Consulate in Montreal.

Written early in Ziad Rahbani's career, Sahriyé is considered one of his landmark works. Through simple dialogue laced with humour and irony, the play casts a sharp eye on the social and political realities of its era — a perspective that remains strikingly relevant more than fifty years after its creation.

Beyond its theatrical depth, the production integrates song, choreography, and artistic tableaux inspired by the Rahbani artistic universe, giving audiences an immersive experience that celebrates the richness of Lebanese cultural heritage. The show runs approximately 1 hour 40 minutes including an intermission.

Direction is by Marie-Thérèse Salhab, with actor coaching by Elie Massaad, choreography by Nabil Nakouzi, Pierre Moussa and Hanna Dergham, vocal direction by Nabil Nakouzi, and musical reproduction by Wissam Dagher. The cast includes Elie El-Zein, Sabeh Abou Rezk, Alexandra Nohra, Ziad Albdewy, Rami Ghanimeh, Pascal Jabbour, Elie Massaad, Elie El-Haddad, Tony Kesrwany, Antoine Haddad, Joseph Nassif, Omeeda Naoum, Charbel Ghafary, Fadi Khoury, and Mikaëlla Choueiri.
