Panama, au rythme du monde is a travel documentary presentation by Les Grands Explorateurs, featuring filmmakers Lyne Lefort and Simon C. Vaillancourt at Salle Pierre-Mercure in Montreal on January 24 at 13:30.
The film takes audiences through the diverse landscapes and cultures of Panama — from the gleaming skyscrapers of Panama City to the indigenous communities of the Darién jungle. The country's famous canal, its role in international maritime trade, and the contrast between tradition and modernity are central themes.
Special attention is given to Panama's indigenous peoples, including the Ngöbe-Buglé, Kuna and Emberá communities, whose deep connection to nature and traditional ways of life continue to captivate travelers. Wildlife including sloths, toucans and monkeys also feature prominently.
Lyne Lefort is a communicator, actress, screenwriter and assistant director with experience on outdoor television programmes including Van Aventure and Les crinqués on the Évasion channel in Quebec. Simon C. Vaillancourt is a director, advanced drone pilot and director of photography known for documentary series such as Nordicité, Van Aventure and Humanima, as well as authored documentaries. Together, they have co-directed five travel films shot while travelling as a family, with Panama: Mille et un visages being among them.
