Neige sur Abidjan reunites a Son and a Father after more than two decades of separation and correspondence. The two are very different, yet remain bound to each other. The Griot, who keeps the memory of several generations of their family, joins them. He invites the Son to explore a new relationship with the world by playing with and questioning his memories and his perception of reality.
The artist describes the work as the story of a journey that took him fifteen years to put into words and images. It started from first impressions he wrote down after returning from Côte d'Ivoire in 2008. It also draws on the connections that developed in the years afterwards. He calls it a dive into his own silence, from which he emerges with a new relationship to the world.
The performance lasts 1h15 with no intermission and is staged in the Salle Michelle-Rossignol.
