Kaïros is a Canadian (Québec) drama from 2026 directed by Jennifer Alleyn, running 96 minutes and rated G. It stars Emmanuel Schwartz, Olivia Palacci and Philippe-Audrey Larrue St-Jacques.
The story follows Manu, a 39-year-old actor who was once highly sought after. After a year of shooting abroad, he comes back to his hometown hoping to resume his career, but finds re-entering the scene harder than expected. After several unsuccessful auditions he doubts everything, having left a woman in Poland and feeling unattached at home. Unexpectedly, he lands a job hosting a call-in show on a community radio station.
The film won the Audience Award and Best Screenplay at the Festival de films d'auteur de Val-Morin. La Presse's Manon Dumais praised it as a playful film that blends reality and fiction, and dream and reality, appealing to the intellect, emotions and senses.
The screening takes place in the Grande Salle with assigned seating, as part of the Ciné-Club du Quartier series. A short discussion hosted by Pierre Sidaoui follows the screening.
