For the fourth year in a row, the Danish Academy for Rock and Popular Music presents honorary awards to figures in Danish music. This year's honorary prizes go to Gnags and Hanne Boel. Previous recipients include Peter Belli, Annisette, D-A-D, Sanne Salomonsen, Sebastian and Lis Sørensen.
The concert is held in two parts, each focusing on one of the honorary award recipients and the honorary members. Several soloists interpret their songs, and Peter A.G. Nielsen and Hanne Boel also perform themselves.
Honorary memberships are awarded the same evening to Pia Raug, Daimi, Keld Heick, Rasmus Lyberth and Flemming Madsen, and posthumously to Phase 5 (Henrik Leif Marquar), Stig Møller and Troels Trier.
Also performing are Klumben, Sahra De Silva, Renay, Uffe Lorenzen, Karen Mukupa, Al Agami, Clemens, Marian Mikkelsen and Janus Bechmann. The whole concert is backed by the Hædersprisbandet: Peter Düring (drums/bandleader), Bastian Sjelberg (bass), Vicky Singh and Jens Runge (guitar/vocals), Søren Runge (keyboards), Thomas Edinger (sax) and Line Krogholm (vocals).
The ceremony has moved to Store VEGA, which turns 30 this year. It is also 70 years since the Folkets Hus building was completed on Enghavevej, the same year rock music arrived in Denmark.
