BIMBO is a creation by Pleurer Dans' Douche, co-presented with the Centre du Théâtre d'Aujourd'hui, and plays in the Salle Jean-Claude-Germain.
The story follows two bimbos having an aperitif, with exaggerated lips, sculpted figures and towering heels. A philosophical thought upsets them, their certainties unravel and their bodies start to come apart, while something new tries to emerge beneath the latex and false eyelashes.
Geneviève Labelle and Mélodie Noël Rousseau, who write and perform the piece, turn hyperfemininity into a space of friction and resistance. The grotesque, sensual transformation cracks the codes of beauty and desire and asks whether we are anything more than the stories we tell ourselves.
Direction and dramaturgy are by Josianne Dulong-Savignac.
