Peter Madsen is a Danish cartoonist, author, filmmaker and lecturer who published his first comic strips at age 15. He is best known for the iconic Valhalla comic series (1979–2009), which sold over 500,000 copies in Denmark and was translated into 10 languages. His other works include Menneskesønnen (1995), which received multiple Danish and international awards including the Christian Comic Award at the Angoulême International Comics Festival.
