Festival International Mosaïque Gipsy Bohème 2026

The Festival International Mosaïque Gipsy Bohème runs from Thursday 24 to Sunday 27 September 2026 at Halle Tropisme in Montpellier, celebrating the living heritage of Romani and Gypsy cultures through four days of music, dance, photography, gastronomy, crafts, reflection and contemporary creation.

Montpellier has deep roots in Gypsy culture, with communities shaping the city's identity since the early 20th century. The city has given rise to legendary artists from Manitas de Plata to the Gipsy Kings, and many families continue to keep these traditions alive today.

This edition places a special spotlight on Catalan Rumba — a popular music style born in the Gypsy neighbourhoods of Barcelona, currently a candidate for UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage status. More than a musical genre, it represents a spirit of sharing, cultural blending and freedom that aligns closely with the festival's values.

Open to everyone, the festival aims to offer a nuanced, multi-disciplinary encounter with cultures too often reduced to stereotypes, presenting their history and creativity as a living, shared heritage.
