El Tri started out in the late 1960s under the name Three Souls in My Mind and grew into one of Mexico's longest-lasting rock institutions, led by Alejandro Lora.
Their appearance at the 1971 Avรกndaro Festival, often called Mexico's answer to Woodstock, secured their place in rock history. Their 1985 gold record Simplemente el Tri, which includes the hits "Triste Canciรณn de Amor" and "Vicioso del Rocanrol", brought them wide recognition well beyond Mexico.
