Canadian progressive metal band Anciients returns to the live stage at Stengade on September 29, 2026, supported by Ipomonia and Advocacy. Winners of a JUNO Award in 2016, the band had been largely inactive for eight years before returning with a new lineup and new album.
Their latest release, "Beyond the Reach of the Sun", is their heaviest and most ambitious work to date. The album tells the story of a society enslaved by interdimensional forces and features a blend of folk, southern blues, psychedelic prog and crushing riffs, including the single "Melt the Crown" with three distinct guitar solos.
