The Théâtre des 13 vents is the home of the Centre Dramatique National Occitanie in Montpellier, in the south of France. Its 2026-27 season opens on 15 October 2026, and it offers a good reason to spend an evening in the city if you enjoy contemporary theatre.
What to expect
The theatre is known for bold, contemporary productions, so the season suits visitors who want something more adventurous than a traditional repertoire. It is a chance to see French stagecraft up close, in a working national theatre rather than a museum-style setting.
Planning your visit
- Season start: 15 October 2026, the opening of the 2026-27 season.
- Programme: check the theatre's programme for the shows on offer and their times before you travel.
- Language: performances are in French, so it helps to look at the synopses in advance if you are not fluent.
Montpellier is a lively university city with a historic centre, so an evening at the theatre fits easily into a longer stay. Plan your dates around the programme, and you can combine a performance with time to explore the city's streets and squares.
