Loppen presents a screening of B-Movie: Lust & Sound in West-Berlin 1979-1989, followed by a Q&A with Mark Reeder.
The film is a fast-paced collage of largely unseen film and TV footage from 1980s West Berlin, when the walled city became a creative melting pot for subculture and pop culture. It follows a hectic yet creative decade, from punk to the Love Parade, in a city of short days and endless nights.
The film is directed by Jörg A. Hoppe, Klaus Maeck and Heiko Lange. Featured people include Mark Reeder, Nick Cave, New Order, Blixa Bargeld, Nena and Die Toten Hosen. The soundtrack includes WESTBAM, MALARIA!, EINSTÜRZENDE NEUBAUTEN, JOY DIVISION, EDGAR FROESE, DIE ÄRZTE, DIE TOTEN HOSEN, ANNE CLARK, IDEAL, NENA, SEX PISTOLS and TÖDLICHE DORIS, among others.
