Alice in Wonderland marks the first creation of choreographer André Santos for Les Grands Ballets Canadiens, where he has danced since 2017. He works in a boldly neoclassical style.
The story draws on both Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking-Glass. Familiar characters such as the White Rabbit, the Mad Hatter, the Queen of Hearts, and Tweedledee and Tweedledum appear along the way. Alice is an active heroine who moves forward, stumbles, and grows in a dreamlike, disorienting world.
The original symphonic score is composed by Montrealer Airat Ichmouratov. The production is aimed at audiences of all ages and is part of the company's 2026-2027 season.
Performances take place from June 3 to 6, 2027, at 2 P.M. and 8 P.M., at Salle Wilfrid-Pelletier, Place des Arts.
