Death Angel was one of the most influential thrash bands of the 1980s, playing a key role in the genre’s second wave. Their rise to fame was propelled by the success of their highly praised third album, Act III (1990), which showcased the band’s creative range through the incorporation of acoustic guitars, funk influences, and traditional heavy metal elements. Although a tragic tour bus accident led to a temporary hiatus for the band, a reunion was sparked ten years later after a special performance for a Chuck Billy benefit show. With stellar albums like The Art of Dying (2004) and Killing Season (2008), it was evident that the band had reignited their passion. The journey of Dead Poet Society began with a few EPs, two albums, and a touch of luck. Established in 2013, this LA-based rock band merges alternative hard rock with progressive indie, driven by feelings of angst and self-reflection. After their debut EP, Weapon (2013), went largely unnoticed in the US, they gained recognition in Mexico, which led to a successful tour. Their signing with Spinefarm Records in 2020 represented a significant advancement, culminating in the explosive debut album -!- (2021). Their subsequent release, Fission (2023), explores deeper themes of addiction, loss, and breakup, all while maintaining their signature fuzzed-up sound, influenced by bands such as Queens of the Stone Age and Royal Blood.
